![]() Allen Borden, Executive Vice President of Borden Insurance, a division of
American Financial Insurance Services, is the Chief Executive Officer of the
agency. He is a 1974 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in
finance. He did graduate studies in business administration at Corpus Christi
State University. He was an assistant to the Workers Compensation Rate
Development Department at the Texas State Board of Insurance in Austin. He
obtained his CPCU and CIC designations after joining Borden Insurance in 1975.
He has been the Surety Manager for Marsh & McLennan in Corpus Christi and
later Vice President and Manager of Marsh & McLennan operations in Corpus
Christi. His duties included responsibility for handling energy related
industries, contractors, broadcast and financial institutions. He is a former
member of the Texas Windstorm Advisory Board and past president of the
Independent Agents of the Coastal Bend. He currently serves on the advisory
board of Texas Mutual Insurance Company. His volunteer activities include
serving as a Sea Scout and Boy Scout leader, Vice President of Risk Management
of the South Texas Council of the Boy Scouts of America, past president of the
Friends of the Museum of Science & History, Director of the Texas State
Aquarium, past president of the Coastal Bend Chapter of the American Diabetes
Association, past president of the University of Texas Ex-Students Association's
Coastal Bend Chapter, Trustee of the Morris L. Lichtenstein Medical Research
Foundation and a member of the UT Marine Science Advisory Council. |

![]() Murray Bass III, is a Corpus Christi native and holds a Bachelors in Business
Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. Murray began his
insurance career with Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs, the nation's seventh largest
insurance intermediary, where he served as their Director of Benefits &
Financial Services in the Corpus Christi office from 1997 to 2005. After leaving
Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs in January of 2005, he formed his own agency, Benefit
Solutions, which later merged with Borden Insurance on January 1, 2009. He
offers comprehensive employee benefits advisory services to small, middle and
large market companies. Murray has provided his experience and expertise to
companies in varying industries including manufacturing, service, oil & gas,
legal, medical, and trucking and in organizations varying in size from 10 to
2000 employees. He is also active in many community and national organizations.
He is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, the Coastal
Bend Association of Health Underwriters, sits on the Broker Council for Blue
Cross Blue Shield and Humana and is a member of St. Pius X Church. He is a past
President of the Corpus Christi chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association
and a past board member for CCA Texas |
Jason Gilbert, CIC

![]() insurance industry for 17 years. He began his career with Humana Healthcare in 1994 and has been an independent agent in Corpus Christi for 10 years. In February 2010, he began working for Borden insurance. He currently holds a Certified Marine Insurance Professional designation (CMIP) and a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist designation (CRIS) and is working towards his Certified Insurance counselor designation (CIC). He is a member of the Corpus Christi American Petroleum Institute and an active member of St. Helena Catholic Church. When Jason is not working, he finds himself spending quality time with his wife and six children as well as studying and competing in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. His volunteer works include raising money for Palmer Drug Abuse Program and coaching Upward basketball for the youth in the community. |

![]() Insurance Industry for over 40 years. He has been a property and casualty insurance agent in Corpus Christi since 1976. During that period he provided insurance, risk management services and advice to many clients. While he has broad knowledge of the property and casualty clients needs he does most of his work helping business clients. He is especially good at handling clients who have habitational exposures. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Stephen F. Austin State University. After entering the insurance business he studied for and attained the professional designations of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). He has volunteered for many insurance industry jobs. He has been President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas and the Independent Insurance Agents of the Coastal Bend. From 2007 to 2010 he served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (Wind Pool). During his time in Corpus Christi, he has participated in many community based charitable organizations such as the March of Dimes and The United Way. |

![]() since 1972, graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. His insurance experience spans 26 years, first as a commercial insurance agent with Swantner and Gordon Insurance Agency, before joining Borden Insurance over five years ago. Mr. Ray specializes in oil and gas, lawyers' professional liability and other commercial property and casualty coverage. He is currently President of the Independent Insurance Agents of the Coastal Bend, and also appointed to the Windstorm Task-Force of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas Association. In addition, Mark is currently the Regional Vice-President for IMPACT, the political action committee for the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas. He is also an active community volunteer, serving as Chairman of the Board of the Coastal Conservation Association Texas, trustee of the Harvey Weil Sportsman Conservation Award Trust, the South Texas Advisory Board of The Nature Conservancy, and is active in the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation, the Port Aransas Rod and Reel Club, the Coastal Bend Emmaus Community and First United Methodist Church. |
