Allen Borden is a 1974 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in finance. He did post graduate studies in business administration at Corpus Christi State University. He was an assistant to the Workers Compensation Rate Development Department at the Texas State Board of Insurance in Austin.
David joined Borden Insurance as President and CEO in August of 2019. He is a native of Corpus Christi and earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from Texas A&M University - College Station. In his role, David is responsible for all operational and strategic aspects of Borden Insurance, as well as for creating and building synergies between Borden Insurance and our parent organization, American Bank. He previously served as Managing Director - Texas Region for one of the Top 10 Insurance Brokers in the U.S. Prior to that, he was President of a multi-state Bank-owned insurance agency. Before he began working in insurance, David spent more than 20 years in the banking industry, working exclusively with large institutional clients.
David Morales is a Corpus Christi native and has been in the Property and Casualty insurance industry since 1998. In his current role at Borden Insurance, David serves as Commercial Operations Director & Retention Specialist. He has previously worked as an underwriter on the company side, managing general agency and on the retail agency side. He is a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate. He later acquired his Masters of Business Administration (MBA), his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) certification and Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. He is also currently working towards a Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation.
Jason Gilbert is a Nueces County Native who has been in the insurance industry since 1994. He began his career with Humana Healthcare and has been an independent agent since 1999. In February 2010, he began working for Borden insurance. He currently holds a Certified Marine Insurance Professional designation (CMIP), a construction Risk Insurance Specialist designation (CRIS) as well as a Certified Insurance Counselor designation (CIC).
Jennifer Sosa is a Corpus Christi native who has worked in the insurance industry since 1998. She joined the Borden team in February 2017 as an Employee Benefits Advisor. She began her career with Aetna U.S. Healthcare and then joined Swantner & Gordon Higginbotham in Corpus Christi, where she managed the agency’s largest accounts while also leading their Account Management Team. She currently holds a Life & Health Insurance Counselor License (Benefits Consulting License) as well as a NAHU Self-Funded Program Certification.
Mark W. Ray is a native Texan and resident of Corpus Christi since 1972. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. His insurance experience spans 34 years, first as a commercial insurance agent with Swantner and Gordon Insurance Agency, before joining Borden Insurance in 2005. Mr. Ray specializes in oil and gas, lawyers' professional liability and other commercial property and casualty coverage.
Mike is a Corpus Christi native and graduate of King High School. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration in Insurance from North Texas State University, and has worked in the insurance industry since 1979. He also holds several industry designations including his CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), and CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor).
Michael Swantner is a native of Corpus Christi and holds both bachelors and masters of business administration degrees in risk management and insurance from the University of Georgia. He has 41 years of insurance industry experience, all in the Corpus Christi community. Over the years, he has served in numerous community volunteer positions. Currently he serves as chairman of the Corpus Christi Medical Center's Board of Trustees, volunteer with the Corpus Christi State School, chairman of the Bill Glass Ministries' Champions for Today program in South Texas, and an active member of First United Methodist Church.
Murray Bass III began his insurance career with Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs, the nation’s seventh largest insurance intermediary, where he served as their Director of Benefits & Financial Services in the Corpus Christi office from 1997 to 2005. After leaving Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs in January of 2005, he formed his own agency, Benefit Solutions, which merged with Borden Insurance in 2009.
Wally Goodman, Vice President, has been employed in the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry for over 40 years. He has been a property and casualty insurance agent in Corpus Christi since 1976. During that period he provided insurance, risk management services and advice to many clients. While he has broad knowledge of the property and casualty clients needs he does most of his work helping business clients.
